Hiking on the coastal path of Ancient FEA (Katakolo, Agios Andreas, Korakohori, Levantokori, Skafidia, Skafidia Monastery) in the prefecture of Ilia, Municipality of Pyrgos on August 19, 2018, Sunday, at 07.00 am.
Ancient FEA (Agios Andreas) was the harbor of ancient Olympia for over 1,000 years, now it is sunken in the bay of St. Andrew !!
The hikers visited Faros, the Volcano, the mosque, the ancient quarry, St. Andreas!
They were excited about the natural beauties and the dozens of monuments they met along the route, connected with the ancient Olympics !!
We will ask the Municipality of Pyrgos, the Archaeological Service of Ilia, the Ilia Forestry to take care of the monuments of the Lighthouse and the Volcano on the hill of Katakolos to be visited !!
This is because monuments such as these, all over Greece the Lighthouses and the volcanoes around the world, are free and accessible to the public who wants to visit them and NOT locked and fenced by individuals and by the State .
